The
Landscape Design Process
Here are a few steps that we must take before our shovels hit
the ground!
Consultation
The first step is the in-home consultation. You will meet with
a Bousek LawnScapes representative to assess your goals, talk
about the possibilities, and to become familiar with your property.
At this time we may ask for a copy of your property plot plan.
A property plot plan
is a scaled layout depicting your property’s boundary
lines, location of the dwelling, along with any easements. Most
homeowners usually receive a copy of their plot plan when they
go to closing settlement.
Design
Since
your ideal landscaping can be hard to picture Bousek LawnScapes
uses state of the art landscape design software allowing us
to insert 3D landscape images into a picture of YOUR property.
This not only helps give you a much better idea of what the
final outcome will look like, but it allows us to show you many
different outcomes that your property could have before you
invest your time and money.
For Bousek LawnScapes
to provide an accurate cost for completing your project, and
to ensure that we have addressed all your goals - we will complete
a scaled, professional design. This allows us to accurately
account for the required materials as well as to accurately
determine labor production hours required to execute your project.
Budget
There are endless possibilities of what can be done with your
property. Each possibility has a different price tag. It’s
crucial for us to have a general idea of what you want to spend
on your project – or at least what your budget is. We
understand that discussing budgets is often a touchy subject
for consumers, but this will help us more swiftly and accurately
meet your needs.
Example 1: A small
back yard could entail a simple project that may cost $3,000.00
or the same yard could entail a comprehensive master plan with
costs drastically exceeding $30,000.00.
Example 2: Buying
a home and designing beautiful landscaping are very similar.
If you have a budget to purchase a home for $200,000.00, the
real estate agent will show you homes in your price range. A
good agent will not take advantage of your time by showing you
homes that are not within your budget.
The same theory applies
to planning a landscape / hardscape project. So that we can
ensure we’re within the realm of possibility, we will
need to have an idea of how much you are willing to invest in
your project. If you are unsure of your budget, we can give
you some approximate costs at the time of the initial consultation.
Selection
of Materials
After the final design has been completed, and a price has been
agreed on, the next step is to finalize the selection of colors
and styles of any applicable materials that will be used in
your project. This may involve visiting projects as well as
visiting supplier showrooms to give you a better idea of what's
available. We're more than happy to provide samples of many
different materials to make it easier for you to choose.
Homeowner’s
Association Approval
Some homeowner associations may have a long, lengthy process
for obtaining their approval before the work may begin. Please
become familiar with your home owners association requirements
for submitting an application for your landscape / hardscape
project. To avoid a delay in starting your project - it may
be helpful for you find out the dates of the next two home owners
association meetings so that we can attempt to have a final
design completed by one of those dates.
Scheduling
Your Project
We typically schedule projects in the order as they are awarded
to us. Bousek LawnScapes will schedule your start date (weather
pending) after you have signed and returned our written proposal
with the required deposit.
Payment
Payment will be worked out upon completion of the design process.
